Ropes & Gray said it advised middle market private equity firm Gauge Capital on its recapitalization of Engine & Transmission Exchange in partnership with the Milwaukee-headquartered company’s founders and management.
Founded in 1985, Engine & Transmission Exchange on its website describes itself as an aftermarket transmission remanufacturer focused on non-discretionary automotive repairs and whose primary business is selling remanufactured transmissions. It says it has over 600 employees.
Engine & Transmission Exchange CEO Noah Rickun said Gauge’s investment will allow his company to grow faster and boost investment in its remanufacturing, product development, product quality, and human capital.
