The Securities and Exchange Commission said the director of its division of corporation finance, Erik Gerding, will leave the agency on Dec. 31.
The SEC on Friday said it named Cicely LaMothe as acting director. LaMothe currently serves as deputy director of disclosure operations for the division.
Gerding joined the SEC during President Biden’s administration, in October 2021, as a deputy director in the corporation finance division, leading legal and regulatory policy.
He took over the division’s director position in February 2023.
