However, as per the former WWE Champion himself, exercise has been a part of his daily life, and he maintains his workout routine with weekly plans. The Original Tribal Chief previously told Men’s Health that working out has been an integral part of his life. “It’s extremely important within my life not just you know for my job and what we do the aesthetic side of it or even the athletic side of it but just mentally it’s a form of therapy,” Reigns told the outlet.
He added, “it’s kind of a form of meditation for me you know I don’t even necessarily look at it as it’s working out or it’s a separate thing it’s just built in it’s as much a part of my day as being a father being a performer being a WWE Superstar so it’s all it all goes hand in hand one of my favorite movements.”

Dumbbell Incline Press
The Dumbbell incline press has been one of the go-to and favorite exercises of Reigns. Speaking of the exercise, Reigns told Men’s Health, “My favorite movements for the upper body is uh any incline movement one of my favorite incline movements would be the dumbbells.”
He further revealed that it gives him “a lot of free range” to get as deep as he needs to. Also, he can focus on the contraction. While building strength, he also elevates the aesthetics of his body with the exercise. Reigns revealed that the exercise has real-life benefits in his professional career as well. “When I switched over to WWE and professional wrestling there are times where you are flat on your back and you do need to get a guy off of you uh for instance to to stay in a match you don’t want to be pinned so there are some things that uh you know a flat bench press type position can work for within professional wrestling,” he added.
While the exercise may look simple, the hardness level depends on the weight alongside sets and reps. For Reigns, he usually does 3 sets of 12-15 reps. Also, he focuses on the negatives to get the maximum benefit.
Bent over dumbbell row
“You wanna have a good back,” Reigns asserted while explaining the importance of Bent over dumbbell row. He usually does 3 sets of 12-15 reps which helps him increase strength in his back.
Reigns explained that this movement is highly effective for targeting the entire back, from the traps down to the lower lats. He asserted that the key to its success lies in the angle and the intensity with which you squeeze during the exercise. The bent over dumbbell row has become a staple in his workout routine. In professional wrestling, superstars must work on strengthening different body parts for different reasons. The seated dumbbell shoulder press helps Reigns with his upper body power. He explained that there are numerous moments during a match, or even outside of one, where things can get intense, especially in WWE. Reigns mentioned how, at times, it gets chaotic in a match, and he has to be ready to lift and slam a grown man over his head.

Barbell squats are one of the most common and highly effective exercises and Reigns has been doing this since his college days. He does 3 sets of 12-15 reps regularly. However, during his college days while playing football, he was reluctant to do barbell squats. “I said it when I was done in college I said I’m never going to squat again Never Gonna I don’t need it I’m never going to do it.” Later, his football strength coaches laughed at him which apparently pushed him to continue with the exercise.
Reigns revealed the importance of squats in his training, calling them “one of the best exercises you can do.” While he acknowledged that squats might not work for everyone due to issues like knee discomfort, he explained that they’ve always been a cornerstone of his routine. For Reigns, squats make him feel his strongest and most athletic, especially when done consistently. He also pointed out how high-rep sets challenge the body, testing not just strength but cardiovascular fitness and overall conditioning as well.
Hammer curl
For Reigns, hammer curl is strictly for aesthetics. He needed skinny biceps and arms to show off his appearance and hammer curl has been effective for this precise cause. “That’s why I like the hammer curl because you can really fill it in and make a very thick looking bicep the hammer curls just nail that portion of the arm,” he admitted. “They also add some good burn to the forearms as well so that’s kind of just where I’m at it’s strictly just the Aesthetics thing,” he added.
Reigns also shared that he prefers hammer curls over the commonly used bicep curls. To follow the former WWE Champion’s hammer curls, you need to do 3 sets of 15-20 reps.
