Actor Dolph Lundgren’s training schedule hasn’t stalled despite Hollywood obligations. On Nov. 23, 2025, he shared his ‘strict’ 30-minute back workout to stay in shape at 68.
Dolph Lundgren is one of the most prolific action stars to light up the big screen. His breakout performance came back in 1985, when he played the menacing Ivan Drago in Rocky IV. He became an instant villain in the film after Apollo Creed died in an exhibition boxing match.
Additionally, Lundgren made waves in entertainment thanks to his roles in Masters of the Universe, Red Scorpion, and The Expendables series. Through the years, his commitment to fitness turned into his highest priority. He’s trained with legends, like former seven-time Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger at Gold’s Gym Venice.
Sadly, Lundgren was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2015. With careful medical intervention, he announced in 2024 that he was finally cancer-free. In light of his health struggles, he’s taken his longevity more seriously as he’s gotten older.

“Anything is better than nothing when it comes to staying in shape. Specially when traveling💪” he shared.
Lundgren’s workouts consist of 30 minutes each day, where he focuses on one specific muscle group in the morning before breakfast.
“I finished my back workout. It’s in my vacation program, which is about 30 minutes a day in the morning before breakfast. I try to cut everything down and just go more strict and just focus on one muscle group every day.”
Lundgren isn’t the only Hollywood action star keen on remaining in tremendous shape. Chuck Norris still pushes the pace at 85 years old. The Black Belt holder makes it a point to focus on movement, agility, and strength with boxing drills.
Some believe Hollywood actors don’t sport the same level of fitness as they once did in Lundgren’s prime. Lee Priest argued that actors in the 60s and 70s were generally more concerned with their health and wellness compared to today’s stars.
Lundgren shows that even with age, he still makes time for the gym to preserve his health. When he’s on vacation, these 30-minute workouts fit perfectly into his schedule.
