Ashish Chanchlani, one of India’s most celebrated digital content creators, is making waves, not just for his comedic brilliance but also for his jaw-dropping fitness transformation. Known for his relatable sketches and hilarious timing, Ashish has shed an impressive 40 kilograms. Surprisingly, he achieved this remarkable feat without depriving himself of his favorite foods. Here’s a closer look at his inspiring journey and the strategies he employed to lose weight while savouring life’s indulgences.

Rethinking Food as Fuel

For Ashish, the first step toward his transformation was changing how he viewed food. Instead of focusing solely on taste, he began to see meals as fuel for his body. His diet plan prioritized proteins, which became the foundation of his meals.

“I ensured that protein made up the largest portion of my diet, followed by fiber, fats, and finally carbs,” he explained. While carbohydrates were still included, they took a back seat, as he pointed out the dangers of consuming carbs fried in fat—a common practice in Indian households.

Good fats, such as those found in nuts and oils, were also a key component of his diet. “Fats are essential for brain function, skin health, and overall bodily reactions,” Ashish shared, emphasizing moderation to avoid overeating calorie-dense foods.

A Typical Day on Ashish’s Plate

Despite his love for food, Ashish structured his meals with discipline and balance. His day began with a high-protein breakfast of six boiled eggs or an omelette, paired with fiber-rich sprouts. For lunch, he opted for one roti, a serving of cucumber and celery juice, and 200 grams of home-cooked chicken—a staple in his daily routine.

Mid-afternoon, he included a scoop of whey protein to meet his protein targets, and dinner was a carb-free affair, focusing on chicken once again. On average, Ashish consumed 150–160 grams of protein per day, carefully calculated based on his weight and fitness goals.

“I made sure to include foods that aid digestion, like cucumber and celery juice, which are great for gut health. Proper digestion is crucial for weight loss,” he emphasized.

Enjoying Sweets Without Guilt

Contrary to popular belief, Ashish didn’t eliminate sugar from his diet. Instead, he allowed himself occasional treats, such as his favourite gulab jamuns and rasmalai, on cheat days. “I never completely gave up on my cravings. Once a week, I indulged, but I adjusted my calorie intake to stay within a deficit,” he revealed.

Ashish’s trick was simple yet effective: balance. For instance, if he enjoyed two gulab jamuns (approximately 350 calories), he would skip a roti or another calorie-heavy item earlier in the day.

Calorie Counting: A Game-Changer

To ensure success, Ashish meticulously tracked his calorie intake, weighing every ingredient to maintain portion control. “Initially, it takes effort, but after a few months, it becomes second nature. I could glance at a plate and estimate the calories,” he said.

He also warned against hidden calorie traps, such as nuts and peanut butter, which, though healthy in moderation, can easily lead to overconsumption. “People often underestimate the calorie density of foods like almonds and cashews. Moderation is key,” he advised.

A Holistic Approach to Fitness

Ashish’s journey proves that weight loss doesn’t have to mean giving up the foods you love. His balanced approach to diet, calorie control, and mental health demonstrates that sustainable fitness is achievable without extremes. For anyone embarking on a similar journey, his advice is clear: “Enjoy what you eat, but be mindful. Moderation and discipline are the ultimate keys to success.”
