Evangeline Lilly is opening up about her costly treatment following a traumatic brain injury.

“I have spent a lot of money getting evaluated and getting targeted, expert advice on how to heal my brain,” Lilly, 46, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, January 24, in a post she captioned “Restore your brain health: Part 1!”

“Not everyone can afford to do this,” the Marvel star admitted in the caption. “This advice was for me specifically and may not be the exact right path for everyone. I am not a doctor nor an authority on any of this. But in the absence of affordable medical care in this country, I am sharing some of the advice give[n] to me.”

Evangeline Lilly Reveals She Has ‘Brain Damage’ After Suffering TBI and Concussion

“OK, I am getting experts to tell me how to remedy the deficiencies in my brain at the moment,” the actress begins in the video. “I consider myself one of the extraordinarily fortunate people in this country who can take care of my body the way that it needs to be taken care of without money getting in the way of that.”

She continued, “And so I want to share what I am learning from them in case any of you out there are also experiencing repercussions from a TBI, a concussion, and want to attend to your brain but don’t know how to.”

Lilly then broke down her daily supplement regimen, which includes NAC, or free amino acids, creatine for breakfast on an empty stomach so it “enters the bloodstream,” omega-3s for overall brain health, an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant.

“This is obviously a lot of supplements and I, as a general note about supplements, I don’t take supplements on a daily basis,” she continued in the video. “I take them on an as-needed basis, so I will be on these supplements for a period of time that I deem appropriate.”

On January 3, Lilly revealed that she suffered brain damage as a result of a recent concussion.

“It’s late on January 1, the first day of 2026, and I’m entering into this new year – the year of the horse — with some bad news about my concussion,” she said via an Instagram video at the time. “The results came back from the scans, and I missed every area, and my brain is functioning at a decreased capacity.”

Lilly added at the time, “So, I do have brain damage from the TBI, and possibly other factors going on.”

A traumatic brain injury, according to the Cleveland Clinic, is defined as a head injury caused by an outside force.

“Now, my job is to get to the bottom of that with the doctors, and then embark on the hard work of fixing it,” the actress continued at the time. “I don’t look forward to it because I feel, like, hard work is all I do. That’s OK, my cognitive decline since I smashed my face open has helped me to slow down and helped me to have a more restful finished 2025. That’s a good thing.”
