The other diets explained

Mediterranean

Just like its name suggests, the Mediterranean diet involves foods that are from that area.

These foods include whole grains, fruits, nuts and seeds.

According to reports, this diet helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Paleo

The Paleo or Paleolithic diet is known as the “Caveman” diet and consists of fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish, eggs, nuts and seeds.

Studies suggest that this diet aids in lowering blood pressure, helping with weight loss and improving insulin sensitivity.

DASH

DASH is an acronym that stands for “Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension.”

The main goal for this diet is to prevent and control hypertension.

For beer lovers, this diet might not be for you because alcohol consumption is not allowed, as well as foods that are high in saturated fats.

Alkaline

The last diet that is popular in Florida and in the country is the alkaline diet.

The purpose of this diet is to increase the intake of alkaline foods, which include fruit, vegetables and nuts.

This diet aims at cutting the consumption of acid-forming foods like meat, dairy and processed foods.

When deciding on a diet, it is recommended to consult a medical expert.
