The NFL announced the offseason workout schedules for all 32 teams Thursday as teams continue preparing for the upcoming draft.
The voluntary program consists of three phases over the course of nine weeks, based on the NFL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Phase One, which lasts the first two weeks of the program, is limited to meetings, strength and conditioning and physical rehab.
Phase Two will be held over the next three weeks of the program and will consist of on-field workouts. Those workouts can be individual or group instruction drills and can include drills and plays conducted at a walk-through pace, with offensive players lining up against offensive players and defensive players lining up across from defensive players. Phase Two will not include live contact or team offense vs team defense drills.
Phase Three will take place over the final four weeks of the program. During the third phase, teams can conduct 10 days of organized team practice activity (OTAs), but there is still no live contact permitted. Teams can conduct 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.
OTAs are voluntary, but teams can have one mandatory minicamp for veteran players, and that minicamp must take place during Phase Three. New head coaches can have one additional voluntary minicamp that must be conducted before the NFL Draft (April 24-26), but no earlier than week three of the club’s offseason workout program and after the first week of Phase One.
The offseason workout dates for all 32 teams can be found at NFL.com.
The Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets will hold voluntary minicamps on April 21-23 and the New England Patriots will have theirs on April 22-24. Teams with new coaches can also begin their offseason programs earlier than other teams.
The Bears, Patriots and Jets will begin their programs on April 7, the Jaguars and Raiders will begin on April 8 and the Cowboys and Saints will begin on April 14. Every other team will start on either April 21 or 22.
