In the spirit of Ben Simmons and many athletes before him, Shilo Sanders posted a video of some of his offseason workouts on Wednesday.
The unofficial term for this genre of workout video is “being in the lab,” and after getting his gains in the weight room, Sanders hopped into the horrid aesthetic dissonance that is his Cybertruck and headed to the practice field for some padded cardio. Then it’s a walk to get a smoothie.
Sanders was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason and will be looking to carve out a roster role in the secondary. It’s an uphill climb—Antoine Winfield Jr. is entrenched at free safety, Tykee Smith will be given the chance to move to strong safety and earn that starting gig and players like Christian Izien, Kaevon Merriweather, Marcus Banks and J.J. Roberts are gunning for roster spots as well.
So Sanders has to make the most of his opportunity. It will be a summer of “full day grinds” in that regard.
