Vitamin B12 plays a crucial role in keeping nerve cells healthy. It supports red blood cell formation and helps maintain energy levels. People who are deficient in B12 often experience fatigue, brain fog and memory issues. Vegans are especially vulnerable because plants do not naturally provide B12. Apart from nutritional yeast, plant based diets cannot meet the requirement. This is why supplements or animal products are often needed.
