The Portland Trail Blazers held their first of many pre-draft workouts to come on Tuesday at the team’s Tualatin practice facility.

Among the six prospects in attendance was 6-foot-7 forward Devon Pryor, who recently transferred to Oregon from Texas.

Pryor, who averaged 3.2 points and 2.0 rebounds during his sophomore season with the Longhorns, is projected to be an undrafted free agent should he remain in the draft.

Following his first workout for an NBA team, Pryor said he is going through the process to gain feedback on where he can improve.

“I know there’s still plenty of ways for me to grow,” he told reporters. “So, I’m just open to everybody’s opinions and what they say I could do better. Keep open ears and a closed mouth.”

Pryor, who is projected to be an undrafted free agent, said his workout went well.

“Had ups and downs,” he said. “Just playing through it. Playing through mistakes and just playing hard is really all it is.”

Pryor said his goal in workouts is to demonstrate his relentlessness on defense, attacking style, and intensity. He listed his strengths as moving the ball, finding his spots, defending, running the floor and rebounding.

Pryor said he felt jitters Monday night but settled down once the workout began.

“I’m in my element,” he said. “So everything just comes naturally at that point.”

The Blazers will bring in several sets of prospects for workouts before the June 25-26 draft.

The draft lottery will be held Monday night.
