Yankees' Jazz Chisholm Jr. Reveals How He Gained 13 Pounds and Feeling 'Full as F–k'

New York Yankees All-Star Jazz Chisholm Jr. has added 13 pounds since late April, getting up to 190 pounds after trying unsuccessfully to gain weight for much of his career. His newfound secret?

“Compared to the amount of water I used to drink, I drink like eight times (more now),” he told The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner. “It’s just ridiculous the amount of water intake I have now. My stomach always feels full as f–k because of the water.”

So not more red meat, or a heavier caloric intake, or even a bunch of junk food. His diet hasn’t changed at all during his period of weight gain. Just… more water.

“Seriously, no joke,” he told Kirschner. “I could be eating a lot and I’d still be at 177 pounds. I just drink an insane amount of water.”

Hey, whatever works. Chisholm is having a fantastic season for the Yankees, hitting .250 with 17 homers, 43 RBI, 39 runs and a .861 OPS in just 65 games, earning his second All-Star bid in the process. He’s clearly loving life in the Big Apple—since joining the Yankees midway through last season, he’s belted 28 homers in 111 contests.

They say New York’s famous bagels are so singular because of the city’s water (even if it’s a bit of a myth). Perhaps it is working similar magic on Chisholm.
